WORKFIT

Physiotherapy and Exercise Therapy for Injuries and Illness

Our professional providers specialize in the treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses following provincial Workers' Compensation (WCB/WSIB) Guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). As fellow employers, we understand OHSA Recordability requirements and know the costs of loss time incidents. Our philosophy is to enable rather than disable, by working with our client companies to provide work restrictions/limitations, which allows our patients to continue working safely while they are recovering. We have built a network of similar-minded medical practitioners for referral when a higher level of care is necessary and provide follow-up monitoring for employees until a return to full-duty status is established.

Vocational Rehabilitation

  • A collaborative process that helps you safely transition back to the job you were doing, or to other suitable employment.
  • Benefits of vocational rehabilitation - If you're injured on the job, one of the best things you can do for your recovery is to return to work as soon as it's safe to do so. Studies show that getting back to work can help your recovery. You'll benefit physically, emotionally, and socially. Returning to work is an important part of your rehabilitation process. Going back to your daily work and activities can help you recover more successfully. It also reduces your chance of developing a long-term disability.
  • Collaborate with a vocational rehabilitation consultant, who assesses your needs and determines appropriate levels of assistance. Together, you'll develop your vocational rehabilitation plan to help you return to work. We partner with you to help you return to work with your employer or another occupation.

  • Identify a suitable return-to-work goal for employment with a new employer if it is not possible for you to return to work with your existing employer; Get safely back to suitable, long-term work
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Services utilizes the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model to support competitive, community-based employment for individuals. IPS is an evidence-based approach that supports individuals with mental illness to obtain and maintain employment. IPS specialists work with individuals soon after entering the program to find work. The goal of the program is for each individual to work as independently as possible and transition off the IPS caseload once the individual is comfortable and successful. (Becker, et al., 2019).
